POST-OPERATIVE INSTRUCTIONS FOLLOWING ORAL SURGERY
It is normal that during the first days appear:
-
➢ Face swelling.
-
➢ Very important, local application of cold on the operated area during the first 5 days.
-
➢ Difficulty opening mouth.
-
➢ Hematoma (in that case, it would disappear at the third week approximately). You can apply
three times a day TRAUMEEL there are no open wounds.
-
➢ If you have a sinus lift, DO NOT BLOW your nose hard, and you must sneeze with your
mouth open if this happened.
-
➢ Nosebleed ( it could be a normal reaction if you have been operated on sinus lift). You must
put in the nose hole a gauze wet with 1 drop of peroxide water.
-
➢ If you bleed after surgery, in the area of the surgery incision, apply Amchafibrin on one
sterile gauze and push it on the wound. Then bite it for 30 minutes.
PHARMACOLOGICAL TREATMENT
-
➢ Rhodogil 750,000 IU/125 mg ( antibiotic), 1 tablet every 8 hours for 7 days, beginning
medication one day before surgery appointment.

➢ If you are allergic to penicillins/ beta- lactams, take Rhodogil ( Spiramycin and
metronidazole).
-
➢ Ibuprofen 600 mg ( anti-inflammatory), 1 tablet every 6 hours for 7 days.

➢ Nolotil ( analgesic), only is neccesary take it alternates with ibuprofen every 2 hours later if you have greater disconforts, only for the first 2 days.

➢ Lansoprazol 15 mg ( gastric protector), 1 tablet every morning for all pharmacological treatment period.
-
➢ Amchafibrin Injectable Solution 500 mg/ 5 ml blister (antifibrinolytic), topical use, according to your necessity.
LIQUID DIET: during the first three days your diet must be liquid, much better if it is cold food, DO NOT DRINK WITH A STRAW. It is much better drinking with a glass. From the third day, you should star with a bland diet: paste, croquette, omelette, sandwich bread, etc.
ORAL HYGIENE: 24 hours after your surgery, you can begin with your oral hygiene that consists on:

➢ Tooth brushing with a soft post surgical toothbrush and chlorhexidine gel ( three times a day during 15 days). Brush all posible areas, a little bleeding is normal. After your surgery, we would give you the special oral hygiene kit that you should use.

➢ Mouthwashes with cold salt water that you can prepare mixing a level teaspoon of salt into a cup of cold water.

➢ Make gum brushing with a special post-surgery toothbrush and chlorhexidine gel, especially on area of surgical stiches. The stiches must be seen black. It is normal if there is a slight bleeding while brushing.

➢ Mouthwashes with Paroex ( chlorhexidine) diluted in water after toothbrushing, 3 times a day during 15 days.

➢ At last, apply the gel of Afta clear that contain hyaluronic acid on the wounds at least 3 times a day until remove surgical suture.
IMPORTANT:
-
After your surgery you should come to the clinic for periodical revisions, the first after 15 or 20 days we remove stiches. Then following check-up a few weeks later.

Do not smoke. Very IMPORTANT, do not speak or speak as little as possible, the first 3 days. Do not forget apply local cold for at least the first 3 days.
